In 2019 I took part to Designflows, the UI Design contest held by Bending Spoons (spoiler alert: it went better in 2021).
The concept
The brief of this contest was an app for pet owners where people could get useful or entertaining content about pets, some of which was protected behind a paywall, and could use a map to find the nearest pet shops, parks or vets. Participants were asked to make three screens, more specifically the home page, the map page and the prompt to subscribe to the paid content.
Due to the type of content – mainly articles and news – I chose an editorial style, even though I don’t think I made a great job with the labels that tell you whether the article is free to read or is paywall-protected.
In the home page, there is a “lol” card hinted to the right: users can drag it in to switch to a Tik-Tok-like infinite scroll of videos.
